Trapped

by Obscure   Sep 24, 2021

The fly was trapped
Held by those silver threads
I watched him flounder
As if thrashing would set him free

The spider came
Signaled by the tangled web
He wrapped the fly up
Ate him, then climbed into the tree

I too feel trapped
Caught in strings of despair
I am not thrashing
It seems a waste of time, to me

There is so much said in these three stanzas, in the image alone of the fly trapped by the spider. And noting the difference, that you are not thrashing and fighting back in the same way, really touched on the depth of despair here.
