Acidic.

by Poet on the Piano   Oct 2, 2021

You know
I'll have to make the best of this.

I dust the piano in an attempt
to make it look more loved,
but I'm sure you've noticed

I barely play, anymore.

The days confuse me,
as I try to choose what to do,

and you tag along,
asking

when?

when!

when.

I never know.

The coffee is too bitter,
lukewarm phantoms adhering
to the most neglected parts
of my tongue,

and even if I explained
everything,

you'd still question

why.

I really loved the voice you used in this; I thought maybe the 'comma' could be removed so that it reads a bit more easily?: in the line "I barely play anymore".

nice expressions! ~<3 thanks for sharing

I know it may not make sense, but I’m always more of a person who depends on listening so when I read something that I truly like and find powerful, I make my phone or laptop read it for me (I was always better in listening than reading in English classes lol). That way I can take it in better. I’m more of an auditory learner, thats what it’s called right?
Lol anyways enough rambling. This time this killed the emotions in this poem especially this part:

    “when?

    when!

    when.”

Added to my favorites!!! I know I’ll be coming back for this.

No, that makes complete sense, Star! Thanks so much. We all may have preferences or learn in different ways. I love that you mentioned the listening aspect and how it can enhance a poem for you. Appreciate you :D
