Who said romance is dead

by Michael   Feb 8, 2022

from natures earthy womb
you grow into a spectacle
of beauty where your
petals twirl and
blossom into
a deep red
velvety
hue

at night time a moonlight
sonata shimmers and
in daytime you are
kissed all day
by the
sun

a natural romantic

thorns claw their way
up and down the sides
of your body to avert many
who want to feast on your essence

sadly you are reared
then torn with the
talons of human
hands

falling prey to one day of the year
where your heart is

snapped
~ ~ ~
broken

in an attempt to
mend many of ours

maybe?
