Prized Possessions - Sonnet

by Walter   Apr 29, 2022

I feel that our love, is now confusion
With so many sides of you, never seen
And cursing myself with your illusion
Where you just kept hiding behind a screen

I was a fool and fell for your acting
And only now am I seeing straight through
Love as a weapon is so distracting
The only reason why I fell for you

But time cannot hide all your intentions
Even though it's you now, who holds the key
Although under a misapprehension
If you believe this is all I can see

Take all my belongings when you depart
Your prized possessions will not find my heart
