A Mind’s Betrayal

Today-
is a bad one.

Dark and heavy,
My thoughts-
Spiral.
Unable to maintain,
The illusion
of Hope.

My mind-
betrays me.

I can see,
No light.
This darkness,
Stretches on beyond
the limits of-
My sanity.

I try-
To convince myself.
This pain will pass.
I won’t always
hurt so much.
But even I,
Recognize the lie.

And-
I don’t believe.
