If the sun could never set.

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 3, 2024

The warmth should inspire me to live,
but instead, it feels like a dreamland.
I want to fall asleep in its embrace,
no more harsh doses of reality.

It's winter, but for once it's not cold.
Even the wind is kind in its approach.
I have a desire to touch what remains
of the green grass, to try and pull up
mounds of dirt, trace a bloodline...
but this life I desire is too unattainable;
I wish it could be tangible.

I wish the sun could rise in me
and never set.

I wish your memory could last forever,
but it hides its face at twilight.
