How truly foolish must I be
To struggle so efficiently
Without you, my Starshine?
Continuously stumbling throughout the decline.
This heart of mine lies scattered
Amongst shards of trust since battered -
Look down from the pedestal on which I've placed you,
See how the fragments spell your name in lieu
Of any logical explanation words could attempt to produce.
I have found that my soul begs for you,
Screaming for the piece that remains lodged within your heart -
I find that I wish nothing more than to drag myself through
The sharpened edges of all that shattered
Solely to collapse into a solace that extraordinarily
Only your arms can provide -
Refilling an emptied reservoir that joy abandoned unapologetically;
You have always been written into my stars, my sky -
If only to know that loving you, and being loved by such, is what eternal paradise felt like.
How might I be able to continue
With this fantastical view?
One I wish to, one I must, one I need to, feed life into
If just to keep your phantom alive and renewed.
