Relationship PTSD is real. You meet someone good, and your heart still reaches for the emergency exit. Not because they gave you a reason because someone else did. I’ve been taught that people lie, people cheat, and people live double lives. So now trust feels more dangerous than solitude. They call it “having walls.” I call it surviving. Because when you’ve loved someone who made you question your own reality, your heart doesn’t beat faster when someone gets close it braces for impact. And maybe that’s why I’m better alone. Not because I don’t want love. Because peace shouldn’t cost me my sanity.
