Beauty Queen

by Amy   Aug 17, 2004

Innocent & pure
Heart of gold
Winning smile
Only 18yrs old

Long blonde hair
Deep blue eyes
Perfect figure
Never lies

Popular & pretty
Beauty queen
Captain of the
Cheer-leading team

Supporting boyfriend
A million friends
Her good luck
Never seems to end

Talented and funny
Nothing she cant do
Lead role in the school play
And in the choir too

Loved by all
Admired and praised
Yet this life shes living
Is passing in a daze

Her beauty like a mask
To hide the pain she feels
Shes so good at pretending
That this isn't even real

But the pressure adds on
With every stress filled day
She has to be perfect
There is no other way

People expect her
To live up to this part
So she ignores the voice within
Ignores her heart

When your whole life is a lie
And nothing feels right
When your losing hope
And you've already lost life's fight

What can you do?
When you cant escape
Stuck in a perfect image
Do you accept this fate?

All they see is the outside
Ignore the person within
The real girl inside
Who is fighting to win

One night it gets too much
For her to handle anymore
She grabs a rusty blade
And locks her bedroom door

She drags that blade
Across her soft & delicate skin
Only now does the real girl
Surface from deep within

And when they find her
The very next day
They'll shed a tear
Shake there head and say

Oh what a waste
So pretty and young
Her whole life ahead
Boy, was she dumb

How hard it was
They never knew
To be perfect every day
What she went through

And on her grave
This is what they wrote
Denied her wishes
That were left in her note

"Here lies a soul
Now set free
Death cannot change
The beauty of she"
