All Alone

by Robert   Sep 4, 2004

A time of the Huntress and land blooming in delight,
a time when the sun gives life to everything in sight.
Flowers unfolding showing off their best,
and men courting women in their best dressed.
Soft grass with dew from the morn,
and a youngster holding a ball being scorned.
All of this when the time is right to live like before,
until the winter hits and the warmth is no more.
This was the time when we knew what had to be,
a choice that lead to a new life for you and me.
I walk alone now years have gone there own way,
and I hope you come for me soon this I pray.
Our children have gone and I am all alone,
for I only hear from them now by phone.
I see lovers like we once were happy and free,
but I grow weary of life please just take me.
I lay tonight in my bed hoping its true,
a kind visit from my loving wife you.
My eyes are closed for I know this is the end,
for tonight my wife will come and show me life’s end.
