Let's Swap Places

by hayley williams   Sep 9, 2004

Do you want to swap places with me
For just half a day wearing my shoes
I think you should at least have a go
For you do not have anything to lose

Maybe you could finally understand
How much pain I hold inside my soul
I think you would be deeply shocked
To see how I have absolutely no control

You would come to understand my heart
And the emptiness I feel deep inside
You will learn how much anger I have
And how it feels to have lost all pride

I bet after the experiment has ended
You will be glad to be back to being you
Because it is really difficult to be me
Or accepting what I have been through

Maybe looking out through my eyes
Would let you see the things that I see
And you will finally get the chance
To know why it is that I hate being me
