We're not all the same

by PAUL HEWSON   Oct 18, 2004

!!!!!!!!!!i have no idea where this came from , or whether i like it ..
i dont know if its finished or if its only just starting ..!!!!!!!!!

we've all walked backwards
to avoid rolling seas
and we've all watched sunsets
kiss the tops of trees ..

we've all searched in vain
to find a place we call home
and all of us hurt
and we've all felt alone

we've all told lies
because we cant face the truth
and we all feel guity
about our misspent youth

we've all loved somebody
and whispered god's name
we've all shared these moments
but we're not all the same

Im glad you commented on a poem of mine today.. I havent checked the site in a while and I would have certainly missed this gem... wherever this came from, whatever you meant by it.. it's great. I esp like the opening stanza (been there - can totally relate). I am throwing this out as suggestion only.. even though we are all different, I would like to see this wrap up with something that brings us all together again. What is it about love and living that is so individual and yet has the power to pull us to someone else? Anyway.. just a thought..lol.
