Just Like Everyone Else

by Heather M Craig   Oct 31, 2004

Dedicated to my baby sis, Kristi

You like what everyone else likes,
you do what everyone else does,
you hate what everyone else hates
and you try to be everything they was.
You get mad when I try to correct you
and the truth is, I'm only trying to help,
You need to be your own person
instead of trying to be like everyone else.
There's millions out there like that,
you can stand out if you only tried.
I try to give you healthy criticism
but you just scream, hit, and cry.
You will always be my baby sister
but we used to be close too
and, now, all I hear is "skank, lesbo, i hate you."
I'm getting so used to it that I pretend not to care
but if I didn't, this poem, I wouldn't make.
Kristi, I love you and I'd like to teach you right
so please find yourself and stop being so fake.
