A lost love

They say love conquers all
over every mountain, and very ocean
they reach deeper than the sea and sky
but no one told me that...

they say love
can lighten your days
and help you off your feet
but why am I still on the ground?..

they say love
can make you feel like your floating
and heal you when you're hurt
so why am I dying every night?..

they say love
can take your breath away
and make you smile and laugh
but why am I crying every night?..

they told me that
you will be better
and we'll be together again
so why are you gone?....

    And I think it'd sound better if it was: "can make you feel like your floating
    and heal you when you're hurting"

    Oh, and maybe...instead of "so why am I dying every night?" - it could be "so why is it that every night I am dying?" ...to keep the "ing" but that would change another pattern you have...well only a suggestion. It's a great poem...sincere...set up nicely.
