Something I Cant See...

by Kaitlin Kristina   Dec 7, 2004

Loneliness is my only friend,
Always there for me,
To consistently transcend.
Reality lies below my feet,
Looking up,
Immortal yet cheap.
Everything just seems so hopeless,
Running around this big world cope-less.
There has to be something bigger I don’t see,
Something bigger than what appears to me,
Because if all I see is all I get,
Then life is a game to end in regret.
Microcosmic little me,
Disappointed with what I see,
Macrocosmic, great big world,
Full of turmoil yet to unfurl.
So here I am,
Pondering life,
Full of temptations, sin and strife.
Striving for happiness, yearn to be free,
Yet I don’t know where any of this be.
Searching for answers without any questions,
No clues or even ambiguous suggestions.
Wandering blindly through this world alone,
Like I said before,
Cold and like stone.
You come and,
You suffer,
You inevitably leave.
Life is the number one terminal disease.
Chronic and sick,
Why cure cancer?
Life will get to you sooner and faster.
Death will always find a way,
Just try to evade the angry dismay.
It amazes me not everyone feels like this,
Something I don’t see has to exist,
They must have a grasp on something I don’t,
Perhaps that one big thing is hope.

I dont think cope-less is a word, but it is for the sake of rhyming, lol. Comment and vote, let me know what you think.
Thanks!

The poem is great as usual. You asked if other people saw or had something you don't and I'm going out on a limb here (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) but what some ppl have is faith. But from my experience if you think and/or question to much faith in God is hard to find. Although i have always felt that whatever helps get you through the day is great, wether it be faith in God, or nature or Allah, or other faiths like Hinduism, buhdism, etc. It doesn't really matter! You could have faith that the sun will rise and set if you want.. Anything that works to make this life we lead seem meaningful.

Hey, I really liked this poem of yours. I've been working on a couple of deep poems myself, but I can't ever get them to come across the way I want. I admire how you can write so many great poems that are full of meaning.

excellent poem, i like these lines:

Life is the number one terminal disease.
    Chronic and sick,
    Why cure cancer?
Life will get to you sooner and faster.

so much meaning in so few words... great job! 5/5!
