Burnt Remains

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Dec 24, 2004

I look at the leaves;
Around the tree they lie
They were alive,
But now, they die.

The leaves that surround the tree,
The pictures of my boyfriend around me...
Does my life ressemble nature?
If it does, do we have a future?

I look at the burnt remains
Of the pictures, my hand no longer maintains
As I look at the last leaf fall,
I know our love has no hope, no hope at all...

    I really like the imagery, but like I said in one of my other comments, the rhyming lines need length consistency. Good job though!
