Drops of salty sorrow

by Jubes   Jan 21, 2005

I used to lie awake and think about tomorrow
That’s when my tears would fall
drops of salty sorrow

The thick green goo that suffocated me at night
Would be cleaned up by morning
I would appear happy and bright

No one knew of my pain
Or my drops of salty sorrow
The ones that would come at night
As I thought about tomorrow

The darkness that consumed me
It took away my light
All that I could see
Was blackness like at night

No stars in the sky
The moon covered by dark black clouds
But little did I know
Behind the thick choking clouds
Was a shining moon
That gave the clouds that silver lining
I need to see it soon

The silver lining of hope
was waiting to come out
Behind the thick black smoke
The dark cold clouds
The ones that make you choke

Choking on unhappiness
Wet salty face
Hate in your heart
Masks covering your sorrow
As you cry your salty tears
The ones of tomorrow

The cycle goes on
Moving up and down
Pushing you hard to the ground
And lifting you off the cold dirt
with a smack in the face
Like a merry-go-round come the tears
My drops of salty sorrow

Behind the dark black clouds
I know there is a ball shining bright
A little ball of hope
Shining in the night

But tonight is stormy and dark
I can’t see the moon
The one that gives the clouds
That silver lining loom

It may look stormy now
And the black clouds may choke
As the thunder and lightning
Dark thoughts they provoke

But remember the moon
And after this storm
Hope will shine through
Hope will line the clouds
We once all knew

Look forward to the day
When you can lay in bed
Smile as you think
one day there will no longer be
Salty tears for tomorrow
