Gone Forever (To Gareth)

by hayley williams   Jan 22, 2005

They found you hanging from the tree
Where we used to smoke pot after school
Swinging from side to side, broken
And all of a sudden life didn’t seem so cool

My heart stopped when I heard the news
My soul froze and my world ended
For at twenty one you killed yourself
The dog walker found your body suspended

The noose around your neck so tight
The color in your face had disappeared
Apparently your eyes remained wide open
Stains upon your cheeks from the dried up tears

Your mother always appeared so composed
But believe me I am haunted by her screams
For she lost her only child on that cold day
And when you died so did all of her dreams

Nobody even knew that you had problems
Until Wednesday when you ran away
I guess we thought you needed some time
For our ignorance we were made to pay

Saturday morning I saw the helicopters
Circling the whole area flying over head
I considered maybe they were looking for you
Never that they had found you already dead

At twenty one you were in your prime
So many plans we were making together
I missed you if we didn’t meet for a week
And now you are gone from me forever

I do not understand why you did this
All I know is that I cannot get you back
You were the light shining in my life
When you died my world went black

Dedicated to Gareth, who died this Saturday will miss you forever...so sorry i couldnt save you like you did me xxx
