Silence Waits Beyond

by ~*LorienElf*~   Feb 5, 2005

Silence rings in my ear
Nothing has happened of late
But that something will is my fear
And I am scared to wait

Who knew silence could be so loud
As I stay solitary on the edge
The future is hidden by a shroud
My anxiousness begins to fledge

What if the awful silence
Is not just a passing faze
What if it could turn to violence
And cause my eyes to glaze

What's coming is unpredictable
And gives not a single clue
All I know is it will be trouble
If when it comes I know not what to do

Whatever it is it's coming
I can feel the fateful steps
The warning sounds are drumming
It approaches from the shadowy depths

The shrouds fly open to reveal
The terror that lies in wait
Before the shadow I kneel
And prepare for the terrible fate

But then the shadows cleared
With the final truth left bare
I need not be feared
Of something that was never there
