Black Blood

by ~*LorienElf*~   Feb 19, 2005

As these thoughts overwhelm me
I finally take up the knife
I lift it to my wrists
Now I will take my life

I gently glide it across my skin
And wait for the red blood to chase
But instead of the shining blood being red
The black blood falls in its place

It drips down and covers my body
As I turn limp and begin to die
I'm lying in this black river of death
I give out my last sigh

Before I had looked for red blood
Just simple red to end it all
To go to a better place
But instead I begin to fall

Now the black blood flows
Not to release, but imprison
It takes me in its death grip
Because of the black blood, the pain will never be done

Good poem, i think i get the metaphore about the black blood. I am not sure, but i suppose it is someone with a cold heart or a "bad" feeling about them. It was a good poem and it was feel versed and wonderfully structured.

    Five/Five

P.S. I appreciate comments back, good or bad
