Slave To Self Harm

by ßeAuTiFuLlY~bRoKeи   Feb 19, 2005

Here it comes
Another fight
Screaming loudly
Into the night
Won't let herself cry
That's what she fears
She'll give no satisfaction
Of them seeing her tears
Now her lips they quiver
Her body it shakes
Her eyes well up
But no sound she makes
Sits in her room
And hears them shout
Can't make it stop
Can't drown them out
Turns up the music
Gets out her knife
Why does she add
To the pain in her life?
Watches the blood
As it drips to the floor
All this goes on
Behind her locked door
At first she feels better
Her feelings released
She breathes a deep sigh
Thinks her pain has finally ceased
What she felt in her heart
Is now drawn on her arm
But she feels like a slave
To this thing called "self harm"
She wants to be free
She tries to yell
But no one can hear her
She's trapped in her hell
Faster she's falling
Into the dark
Where the scars on her arm
Match the scars in her heart

  • Hey
out of all of ur poems this 1 haz 2 b mi favourite poem, probly coz i can totally relate to it. every time my sister and i had a fight i wouldnt cry id just go into my room in this kind of calm daze and cut words into my body.
now my sister pretends she cuts her wrists even though she doesnt (her wrists a frequently on display and their is not a scratch on them). it makes me made that she can so openly tell a lie that is so deep that someone who has ever really self harmed could relate to and feel the pain i have/do feel
