That Tragic Day

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Mar 1, 2005

Going out for lunch having a guys day out,
not ever thinking what the day was all about.
finish lunch and pay for the food,
all was good, there was nothing to lose.
Walk out of the restraunt and get into the car,
not ever thinking about what he wished for last night upon that star.
Into the driveway he backs up,
the boy gets out he has had enough.
"I hate you" he shouted through gritted teeth,
not showing the true emotions that still belong underneath.
The man gets into the car and drives away,
if the boy was that mad at him he did not want to stay.
The boy shuts the door behind him and goes up to his room,
there he thinks that he has finally hit his doom.
Man drives in a wild fit of anger,
not even knowing how many lives were in danger.
Boy picks up his stuff and starts throwing it at the walls,
not once giving it a second thought throughout it all.
Man stops at a red light and has nothing left but his thoughts,
he thinks to himself that this will be the last time that they fought.
Boy hates the man, he wishes he was dead,
he pulls the blankets over him and tosses and turns in his bed.
Man pulls a u turn and starts his way back home,
he never wanted to leave that boy all alone.
Boy sits and ponders away,
at the hatred he showed that day.
Man drives as fast as he can go,
his love for the boy he wants to show.
Boy says to himself that he will never forgive the man,
for him, he could not stand.
This is only a part of the tragic day that leaves our hearts scarred,
the day that the truck hit the car.
The boy thinks nothing of it until he hears the doorbell ring,
who could this be? We do not need anything.
The man slowly dieing away in the drivers seat,
says his last words "tell the boy i love him and i will watch over" as his heart has it's last beat.
The boy opens the door to a man dressed in blue,
he thinks to himself "oh no what did i do?"
The man stops breathing, he is no more,
but he went up above and is now knocking at heavens door.
The boy listens to the the story and starts to cry,
he never wanted his dad to die.
He was only fifteen, to young to think about what he wished for in anger,
he never meant to put anyones lives in danger.
The man is cremated and the ashes are spread,
in a lake in british columbia, few words are said.
Now, twenty eight years later he comes back and visits his dad,
never realizing what he once had.....

People, please think about what you say,
think your words through.
You never know when you could lose somebody,
so never say you hate anybody.
Love with all that you got to give,
and be thankful that the ones you love got the gift to live.
This story is one that will always make me cry and think about what i have,
for it is about my long lost grandpa and my lovable dad.
