Canvas of Many Colors

My canvas once was bare
looking where to start,
now filled with vibrant colors
shadowed by pitch dark.

Upon the many years,
the purity has been replaced
with various splashes of color
trimmed with ragged lace.

My canvas of many colors,
my ever changing art,
the various pains of life,
the canvas of my heart.
