Endless Pleas for Mercy

by A Broken Bleeding Soul   Mar 18, 2005

What will it take to make you see
The pain behind her eyes
You may think that you know her very well
But you only know her disguise

So read this carefully in hopes that you'll see
That this all comes from her heart
And maybe you'll see how her life came to nothing
And how it all fell apart

She seems to be an ordinary girl
Who always wears a smile
Who screams and pleas for someone to help
But she goes unheard all the while

In the presence of people she changes herself
She brings out her secret disguise
She laughs and she plays like everything's fine
Praying that no one heard her cries

When she comes home her world simply falls apart
She traps herself between four dark walls
She cries all her tears until there's nothing left
And her remaining strength crumbles and falls

She opens her drawer and slowly takes it out
She took out her trustworthy blade
With her blade she takes shape on her arm
Thinking of her endless mistakes made

She ends her session and is left in regret
Begging for a time when this depression will end
She longs for someone's sweet embrace
But all she knows of is her blade, her true friend

This girl is ruining her life but she really doesn't care
She no longer cares to think about what her life has come to be
I see this girl every minute of every day
And it hurts more to know that this girl is really me

I begged for mercy, for a sweet release
It was apparent, my escape was delivered to me
In blades of steel and tears of red
There's nothing left to see

So turn away and please don't speak
For I may lose my strength once more
I fear that you may have seen too much
And hopefully, next time you won't see me bleeding on the floor
