Wasted On You

I chased your heartache
and captured your fears.
Gave you the sunshine
and bottled your tears.

I said all the things
you needed to hear.
The truth from my soul
honest and sincere.

I made you smile
and forget the pain.
Rainbows and laughter
chasing the rain.

But when I needed you
it wasn't the same.
I cried aloud,
but you never came.

You took all you needed
and left me here.
Drowning in sorrow,
catching my tears.

You didn't bring sunshine
or even a light.
Just left me here in
the cold of the night.

But I'm not worried,
I'll make it through.
By using all the energy,
I wasted on you!
