The Coward Inside

You're searching for
what seems out of reach
but it's so close
but one cannot teach...

You have placed the coward
inside of your soul
too high above the beauty
of the heart you behold.

He cannot be killed
in an instant of wish
but to fight his control,
win the battle, and he'll be banished.

To sabotage the finer creation
was darkness's ultimate intent.
Take a look more profound
and erase his bitter confinement.

The coward in your soul,
too concealed by the fears,
but to face the wretched world
is the only way he'll disappear.

-----the story behind this is today in poetry class, we recieved a booklet of some of the classes pieces, and a member of the class had a poem called "The Coward In My Soul" and it inspired to write this poem for him, which I will give to him tommorrow although we are merely strangers...yes, i'm thoughtful =P j/k------
