Profound Connections (rondel)

by Heather M Craig   Apr 15, 2005

A rondel is a French form consisting of 13 lines: two quatrains and a quintet, rhyming as follows:
ABba abAB abbaA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats.

-------------------------------

Preveiling differences in two souls
combinded in an unrevealing connection.
Our talents in opposite directions
however, neither of us steal the show.

Separate beliefs never take a toll
such as the creed of the world's creation.
Prevailing differences in two souls
combined in an unrevealing connection.

The different standards we behold
brightening horizons, never before mentioned,
however neither of us steal the show.
The world's judgements, bitter cold, yet,
prevailing differences in two souls
combined in an unrevealing connection.

Entire in its unique...I could envision you rehearsing this on stage, with the lights dimmed in some underground coffee shop.
