To My Mother

To my mother, on this special day
I could say I love you, in so many ways
But no matter what I do, or what I say
It could not do you justice, not today

You’ve always been there,
When I’ve needed you to be
Giving me wisdom and advice,
When I was too blind to see
When I had given up on myself,
Somehow you still believed in me
That is why words cannot express,
Just how much you mean to me

You’ve always tried to help me out,
Even when you’re not able to
Understanding my situations,
Knowing what I’m going through,
That’s why I respect your judgment,
Because you’ve been in my shoes
And I know that you will support me,
In whatever path that I choose

So to my mother, on this special day
I wrote you this poem so that I could say
That on this very wonderful Sunday in May
I wish you the world’s happiest Mother’s Day!
