Devouring All That I Am

by HOLLY ARMER   May 9, 2005

Indifference eats at me
decaying my fragile soul.
Tearing at my essence
as mediocrity takes it's toll.

It absolves my inspiration
licking it's fingers clean.
Takes away my goal's
and finishes off my dreams.

Feeding on my desire
till there's not a morsel left.
Finding pleasure in my agony
as I beg for death.

Hunted by the one who
wants no one else but me.
It devours all that I am
and all I was to be!
