Where are you mommy

by steve   May 17, 2005

Where were you mommy when I was a boy
Christmas and birthdays, you never sent a toy
you never even cared to send a card
just a few words, was it really that hard
Id stare at the night cause it was over you too
daddy said you left, how can that be true
did I not deserve the title of being your son
I was a BABY!!!!!was I not enough fun
I hope I kept you up and cried in your dreams
cried as my tears flowed in violent streams
all my life I missed your sweet touch
though needing, it never came to be as such

where are you mommy now that I'm a man
Ive struggled in life and Ive done the best I can
Ive done the best there is to make you proud
though Ill never be able to pick you outta the crowd
you missed the things that made me who I am
you missed when I joined to fight for uncle Sam
you missed my first girl and my first kiss
or maybe you forgot so that you'd never miss
where are you mommy?I'm never too old
I still hurt and my life can still be cold
I could still use you to show me the way
when the clouds wont part to a sun shining day

where are you mommy??where are you gonna be
when I'm an old man and its hard to see
you'll have missed my whole life
my job, my kids, you'll miss my wife
it'll be too late you'll be six feet under
Ill think of you when it storms and I first hear the thunder
cause Ill think of the storms I alone had to weather
but in the end my heart is lifted, light as a feather
maybe you'll meet me at heavens pearly gates
but I guess we'll just see if in the future it waits

    Oh wow...
This brought tears to my eyes.
    My favourite part was
I could still use you to show me the way
when the clouds wont part to a sun shining day

That really hit me, the emotion behind was so powerful.
You have a lot of talent, and your work is a joy to read.
