That Certain Someone

Every time I think of this,
A feeling overcomes me,
I don't how to describe it,
It is a feeling you can't visibly see

This feeling I have is so uplifting,
It makes me feel like I belong,
It makes me feel like I have a shoulder to cry on,
And nothing can go wrong

When I am in pain and agony,
And I feel alone and depressed,
It feels like I can't hold on,
My mind is completely distressed,

But then this feeling comes to me,
And it dries away my tears,
It accompanies me when I feel alone,
It chases away my fears

What is this thing you ask,
That is always by my side,
This thing that makes me feel this way,
And has always been my guide

This thing is not a thing per say,
In fact it is a person just like me,
A person who is caring and thoughtful,
A person who brings out the best in me

While others just passed me by,
And just stared at me with a look of disgust,
This person stopped to help me out,
With a sense of never-ending trust

This person listens to me complain,
And takes the hit as I vent,
Gives me advice and words from experience,
As I describe my pain and torment

When I was feeling worthless,
And could not see the light,
They placed their hand in mine,
And helped me put up a fight

Every time I think of this person,
My thoughts become pure and true,
For this person reminded me about the beauty of life,
And that certain someone was you
