I'm your doll

Dress me up in ribbons to try and hide my rags
Disguise me so that I look just as you imagine me
Paint me up with make up so you can’t see my scars
Treat me like a doll, so innocent and so clean

Because you can’t see all the dirty bloodstains
From so many dirty deeds, upon my cheaters hands
You just look at me through rose tinted glass
Such a perfect image, but I can’t meet your demands

I’m not as good as I may seem, your ideals, just a dream
You created me, made me what I am today
You are everything and everyone to me
Without you I am not a person, I would not seem this way

Bury me in the world which you have created
You can tie me up in fantasies, mask my face with lies
Cover me up in the pretty pink scented rose petals
Hide away the dark secrets that will lead to my demise

Forget about the times I make you cry and hurt you
And ignore me when I act spoilt or mean
‘Cos you can just put me back in my box
I’m just your doll, so innocent ad so clean…

    Great poem, I understand what you mean and think you put across really well.
    Atleast you can see its not good to hide yourself. Dont let anyone make you feel like you need too.

    i like the poem, it's a great idea! wonderful job! strikes me as sd though because it's always sad seeing someone hiding behind a mask, hiding themself.

    Amazing poem, brilliant images put across incredibly well, perhaps I picked up a meaning that wasn't there, but I shall assume I am correct, Don't think that the person hasnt seen faults or mistakes, Dont think that this person hasn't seen the scars, dont think that they imagine what you are like, because this person probably loves you just as much with all your mistakes, this person accepts any bad things you have done, this person understands you more than perhaps you realize, this person may say you are perfect because to them you are, it doesnt mean they think you dont make mistakes, it doesn't mean they want to hide the scars, it means they love you, just as you are, with any mistakes or faults, even though in the past you have hurt them, perhaps they are not blinded by self hatred, they see you as a wonderful person, Like I do, I have seen all the bad and I love you, more than anything can possibly say, I love you, just as you are, with the scars and the tears, I love you and I wouldnt change you for the world.. sorry this is really long, Amazing poem, wonderful wording and intellectual vocabulary..
