Mommy’s Tears

Mommy’s Tears

Here on shore I try to stand,
But all I do is sink in sand,
Trying hard to stop your tears,
Before you drown in lake of fears,
Spun by all the tears of pain,
For like clouds, your eyes still rain,
But I still sink upon the sand,
For I am too young to understand,
For I’m but ten with mind at lost,
Confused to think I’m mommy’s tossed,
Standing on shore to watch you drown,
I don’t know why, you just broke down,
I think it was because of me,
For Daddy left in misery,
So maybe if I wasn’t born
Mommy wouldn’t tear and mourn,
And now I try to be so strong,
To fix the things that I did wrong.

“I’m sorry mom for being born,
If only you were both forlorn,
Then Maybe dad could still be here,
To catch your tears and hold you dear,
But gone he is because of me,
For what other reason could it be?”

*** I wrote this poem to show how often kids blame themselves for the seperation of their parents, and how the parents should really do their best to help them understand what is going on, why it is, and whose fault it isn't.*** I hope you enjoyed reading it!!!
