Black And Blue

by The Fly   Aug 2, 2005

Well i have tried, several times,
To be a loving person.
I have tried, several times,
To love each and everyone.

But this heart of mine, is hurt,
This heart of mine, it don't work,
Because it's black and blue,
From being bruised,
By you.

Its hard to love with a heart like this,
After it has been so mutilated.
Beat, bruised, and beaten again,
Are you happy now?
That you've held my heart, in the palm of your hand,
And looked at all of its beauty,
And then you grinned, and chucked it to the ground,
And watched it shrivel and die.

Now this heart of mine can't love,
This heart of mine has had enough,
It's black and blue,
From being bruised,
By you.

You said you'd love me, with all your heart,
You said you'd care for me, and we'd never be apart,
You said you'd be my best friend, all the time,
You said you'd be with me, and you'd always be mine.

But then you go and stupidly do,
Such a terrible thing, you did.
Took my heart, tore it apart,
Left it for dead, black and blue.

And this heart of mine sheds another tear,
Before it dies, where it lies right here,
Black and blue,
From being bruised,
By you.
