Forgotten Book.

by Marta   Aug 25, 2005

I am like a forgotten book
Upon a wooden shelf
The pain is on the pages
The hate within myself.

I am settled in a room
Listening to the cracks
Of the lonely floorboards
Like the soul I lack.

I am like the loneliness
That no one seems to see
It is hidden in the core
Of an old willow tree.

I am waiting for a finger
To read along the lines
To know what it's like
In this lonely world of mine.

I am no longer alive
After all I am just a book
Perhaps they forgot
To read and take a look.

Pretty deep poem. The rhymes were good, but the 2nd verse didn't flow well. The rest of it was great. good job :)
