Memories

All the good memories that I’ve had,
Sit side by side with some that are bad,
To escape the present is possible to do,
But to forget the past will never come true,

Your memories are tattooed forever in your head,
The only way to forget them is being dead,
Memories can be a reference to the past,
But can bring back the pain oh so fast,

Good thoughts may last forever,
But to retrieve them, I may never,
Leaving them behind to start a new,
Is something that I just might do,

If my love some how will ever end,
Like an envelope, those memories I will send,
To try to haunt me in my future more,
So to the sky I will soar
