An ordinary girl
Or so it seems
A beautiful smile
Full of dreams
Convincing laughter
Hurt untold
Through her words
Appears so bold
Many friends
A normal life
But no one knows
About her knife
Her grades in school
Prove her smart
A loving person
A wonderful heart
Yet scared so deeply
Battered and bruised
Secretly hurting
And so confused
Comes home each night
Tears start to fall
But soon as day breaks
There's no sign at all
Her friends they adore her
Admire her so
She never tells them
Of what they don't know
Instead she goes on
Appearing so brave
Knowing inside
These are her last days
Planning her suicide
Setting the date
An X on her calender
Sealing her fate
Not going unnoticed
Sits an empty chair
The day is more boring
Because she's not there
Attendance is taken
By all she is missed
Under "absent"
This girl makes the list
Soon it's discovered
The truth becomes clear
People are shocked
Can't believe what they hear
See things aren't always
As they are shown
