Cheated

I stood there a second and smirked into my mirror,
Only a face such as my own could be so sincere.
I gave myself one last little smile,
And then I was off to your house... I'd be just awhile.

I began walking down the old dirt path,
A suit and a tie, with black leather shoes to match.
I reached your house at a little past seven
Knowing us... I wouldn't be home till around eleven.

A walked past your yard and up your driveway,
And up your old wooden steps full of decay.
I knew if I knocked it would be but a sin,
So I took it upon myself and let myself in.

Not a noise stirred but my feet on your floor
I turned back around and shut the door.
I looked for you in the kitchen and in your living room,
I walked past your closet and knocked over the broom.

Then I heard the strangest thing,
It sounded like some sort of high-pitched ring.
I moved closer to your room to investigate what I heard,
And then I swore I heard you and another male's word.

I opened the door and peeked inside,
Only to see you on top, giving him the ride.
I closed my eyes and felt my heart crack,
Knowing now that your love for me had always lacked.

Such a fool I am to think you were my one,
Now all I have is me and your father's gun.
I ran to his room and picked up the piece,
Went silently to your room and signed your death lease.

I looked at the man and simply smiled,
Then looked at the gun, which was cold and mild.
Pulled it to my head and thought one last thought,
Was it you or was it love that I so sought?
