Why don't you love me Dad?

by hayley williams   Nov 25, 2003

Its hard to forgive and forget,
When someone is never there.
You start to really hurt,
and think that they don't care.

They say they will come around,
You wait but they never show.
And when they finally make some time,
You tell them where to go.

Its not because i don't love you,
its because i don't want to be hurt,
when you let me down,
you make me feel like dirt.

From an early aged you pushed
me aside just like i didn't matter,
You still claim that you love me,
the lies keep getting fatter.

Powerful stuff Hayley, I know how you feel. I'd be let down by dad sometimes and it really hurts when I only got to see him once a week. We are very close now that I'm older and ijust hope that works the same for you.
    Great poem, K
