Letting go...

by Hidden Meaning   Sep 30, 2005

"I hope you hit a vein"
With those words came the end,
It was over nothing left
her reason had lost all point

tracing her veins with a blade
sliding it along the blue
making an incision to release the pain
hoping that this time she won't return.

he was her everything
her love,her light,her hope,
with a bitter ending they parted
each had been hoping it was true love.

A promise was made and broken
he said she would never have to say goodbye
he would never leave her
together forever was his plan

"I have to tell you something,
I know that you will hate"
go ahead she replied
with the smile fading behind her eyes

Have you ever felt your heart break,
the words that followed shattered hers
"I'm still in love with my ex"
could there be a way to fix this.

so she played her morbid songs
poetry sprung from her fingertips
description in rhythm of how she felt
the tears that ran down her cheeks

accepting was the hardest part
saying goodbye, letting go
she took the blade for the final time,
his wish came true, she hit the vein in her right arm,
finally it was her time to let go.
