Rain

Glistening omniscient beauty
descending from the sky
gently tapping my hair
cars gradually passing
They must be wondering,
what this girl is doing
standing out among the rain...
Looking back my eyeliner smeared
watery eyes
lipstick smudged
What has happened to my life?

Not all days are like this,
though its all the same in my mind
drifting in and out of reality
shifting through time
reality is a part of this world
i try not to be familiar with
still knowing it is not something I can ignore...

A downpour to symbolize
every tear I have cried
merged with those of my friends
heartfelt and lonely
we unite with each other
after all how could we let go
we have lived each others fears
and heard our silent screams
seen every uncried tear
shared all our dreams
went head to head
without one another we wouldn't have lasted long,
And so I sit here singing this last pitiful song…
