For Love or Money

by Atomic   Nov 6, 2005

Our family has so little,
But we couldn't care less.
We earned what little we have,
Because we always tried our best.

Sure people look down upon us,
But we learn better not to care.
Why should we trash our emotions,
For someone who was never there?

We don't have a lot of much,
But we have enough to get us by.
We have the richest thing of all,
Something that lives on once we die.

Many people don't have it,
Most people crave for it long.
Those who have it don't cherish it,
Until they see it's gone.

Money can't make it stay,
People make it stronger.
Holding on tight kills it fast,
Give it wings and it'll last longer.

Poverty of love or poverty of money,
Which path would you take?
For poverty of love guarantees you,
Your heart can never break.

But would you risk it all for that?
All that can never be?
Because you chose the wrong path,
To live your life lonely?

Now poverty of money,
Means you can risk it all.
Risk the chances to hurt,
To trip yourself and fall.

Which do you desire more?
The things you desperately need.
Or the things you foolishly want?
Or both because of greed?

Your rhymes are so good, I wish I could write like that. Your poetry has a really nice structure to it, all of my poems are different, and they are all over the place. I could never be consistant with my writing, which is sad. Oh well, maybe you can teach me to be good :P hehe

Hey Ato-chan. This really blossomed from the part you read me earlier! Great job! My favorite lines were:

"We don't have a lot of much,
But we have enough to get us by.
We have the richest thing of all,
Something that lives on once we die."

    Awesome job lady!
