Broken Little Girl

I'm going to tell a story
Of a girl that i once knew
Not a worry in the world
Nor a reason to feel blue

She lived with a smile
Imprinted on her face
A heart that was unbroken
Safe within its case

She lost that little girl
As the years passed by
Now a teenager
Living one big lie

She looks into the mirror
Upset with what she saw
How did this happen
She expected so much more

A massive change
Happened in her life
That girl was destroyed
Through heartache and strife

Nothing in this world
Ever goes her way
Threatening her existence
Each and every day

How did she get like this
Her messed up little mind
But don't get too close
You never know what you'll find

Full of hurtful secrets
Haunting every thought
Crying rivers of tears
None of which were caught

When she looked into the mirror
She was frightened to see
That the person staring back
Was just little old me!
