Haunted by You

Flashbacks, memories
Through a crimson eye glass
All of you
In a corner, clutching a knife

Salt tears, streaming
My sorrow hits its peak

There, bleeding yourself alone

Me, wondering
Questioning your safety

The many new cuts every night

No sanity
To save your troubled mind

Surfacing through the countless scars

My ex. left me and really hurt me, but I can't get let him go. I can't stop thinking about him, I can't stop worrying and I want so badly to know that he is OK. He was a cutter before I knew him, and then he stopped and he moved into my town. We became friends very quickly and then got involved with a relationship. Later that year (last year) I started cutting myself because of a lot of problems going on in my life. I didn't know he was a cutter before and then because of me he started again. Since then he's left me for another girl and wants nothing to do with me. It is really hurting me to not know whether he's OK or not. And to top it off I still secretly want him to come back although I know he never will because that is how much I loved him. OK, that's my long sob story. Hope you enjoyed the poem.
