Rainy in New York- Second Half

by LettersFromEnnis   Dec 17, 2005

This is just the second half of my super long poem.

As fast as my bare feet could take me
I ran toward you
And the other
And as hard as I could
I threw a hard blow at his face
But I shouldnt have bothered

He looks at me with eyes of fire
And tried to get me back
But I dip
And grab your hand
And as the rat race starts
I can feel the rain in my hair slowly slip

You try to refuse my grip
And try to shake me away
But all I can do is hold on
For there is something I must show you
It was the place of our first night
The place of our first song

Here
We finally stop
On the bridge
Above the waters
The ancient romance place
The place of our first kiss

You slow down
And run perfectly into me
Then I swiftly grab you by the waist
I could see a tear in your glistening eye
So I wiped some rain away
And brought you to my face

I breathed hot air on your lips
For they were only and inch away from mine
And you stared at me in fright
And then
And then
And then comes the light

And then your lips are mine once again
And once again you belong to me entirely
And you entirely are mine
And you being mine
Are so tender and sweet
Tender and sweet, being so fine

Never does this kiss end
And as I flow into your head
We stand in the evening downpour
And to leave you now would be suicide
And to leave you at all
Would be nevermore

We stop
We look at each other
I care
That you are here
With me
As I stare

You look down
I pick up your head
And gaze at your expression
And you want to speak
But I hush your lips
Afraid of words of deception

Then
With a lightening flash
You hug my crying
And if I should wipe your tears through this rain
There would be no point
And no point trying

I hug you back
And I forgot to remember
That this moment
Would never last
I would forever miss this scene
And your presence

But if you left once again
Then I could no longer look back
And there would be nothing left to say
To you
That youd want to hear
Or play

Now because of you
I want you more
And more
And if I tried to speak to you again
And you didnt get my silence
Then you wouldnt understand my words

But you are here now
With me
And with the last moment
That our lips touched
Everything gets so blurry
And everything falls silent

I blink
And blink
And blink
And blink
And blink
And blink

I cant manage to know where I am
And finally I realize
That what I saw
Was only a dream
Just to end up awake once again in my nest
Of strings and straw
