A Day's Nightfall- Series 1- Part 3- A Walk

by LettersFromEnnis   Mar 18, 2006

I'm welcomed into a neighborhood
Away from the havoc
It was such a subtle place
Peaceful

Birds singing songs of pride
Leaves swaying in the tender breeze
People walking to get their morning papers
And richly sip their coffee

Oh how simple a life like that must be like
A life of luxury
In a way
That is not luxurious at all

I indulge the pure air
And breathe it all out
All just to
Take it in once again

But this day was off to an enjoyable start
That it just made me want to scream
So God himself
Could hear me

As I jog toward her home
Down Beautiful Lane
I expected the usual
Our morning kiss

I could almost feel her in my arms already
Hugging her
Spinning her around
Laughing with her

Such a dream to be true
Again today
And in the morrow
And forever always

As I passed down the last house
And into her driveway
I gradually walked to her door
And rang the bell

Wow, that was really great. I loved the way you went into details. this made it
easy for me to imagine that day you were talking about. the scenes, the sounds(from the sound of the clock to the echo of the shutting doors) and your thoughts and feelings were all perfectly described. I especially loved the forth, fifth, sixth and the seventh
stanzas of the first part. uh... and one thing about that part you said"it just made me to scream so God himself could hear me". well, in my opinion, you don't need to scream. God is within you. you don't even need to whisper cuz when a thought passes your mind without you saying it aloud, he will hear it anyway.
well, I talked too much. but lemme describe this poem in one word. no, no, in two words: a lively poem and fabulous.

    much love,
