Going through the years

Little and young I laughed at it all
Something someone did something I saw
Talk non-stop, who knows about what
I'm sure sometimes they want to tape my mouth shut

Grew up a bit, getting ready to leave elem. school
A little more shy, trying to be cool
Fit in with all of my friends
Trying to follow the crowd and all the new trends

Growing some more, 6th 7th 8th grade
This is when my individuality and style were definitely made
New friends and some crushes
Sleepovers,makeup, and hair brushes

Life got weird, leaving junior high
I notice sometimes i would just cry
Very outgoing and happy girl, something wasn't right
The way I once was, was falling out of sight

High school started, almost 2nd year
The feelings I felt were getting more severe
I couldn't figure out how to deal
The life I was living seemed so surreal

In 10th grade now, learning to cope
Slowly but surely I'm gaining back hope
I don't want to die, I want to live, the scars on my arms will always remind
Remind me, of the feeling I am now trying to put behind

** Its still in the making it started off as just an everyday diary entry and turned into something more, i am still revising it now and then but thought i would share what i had thus far, comments good or bad welcome and appreciated**

    I can relate to this a lot. I was basically a happy kid growing up, but then when I hit thirteen I got depressed and that's when I started cutting myself. Now I'm 18 and still in the same position I was. Great poem!

    Since you wrote it in your diary it's just thoughts put in rhyme.I do that too,but mine are more forced than yours:P It's nice, but you can make it better,if you watch to maintan the rythming!!But its nice anyway!

    Great poem, its written well. sometimes the best poems are accidental :laugh: when you dont set out to write one at all. they seem to capture your feelings better or something....not sure..

    good poem though :)
