A Dream is a wish your Heart Breaks

by Avellana   Jan 15, 2006

Looking in through the mask you made
Then kept on just too stay sane
You find it's breaking under the pressure
And snapping under the strain

Being too scared to take it off
And not even sure you could
It's so much more than face paint
Not made of plastic or even wood

But the hopes and dreams you've wanted
But were too afraid to even say
Dreaming is the only chance they have
To take off and fly away

For what if your not wanted?
Or it's worse than you ever thought
Isn't it best to be safer?
And never have the chance to be caught

To never be left on your death bed
Abandoned in the dead of night
Then after when given the choice
Would you rather die
Than put up a fight

This poem just kinda... created itself. No-one/thing was the imagery behind it. Just my hatred of Sundays. (Too much thinking time)

Thanks for any comments.
