The truth of life

by Jacob Perry   Jan 27, 2006

Sitting and thinking
a fools only hope
sleep doesn't come easy
and id rather choke

things all around me
things in my blood
thoughts destroy sanity
such a terrible flood

the pain of one thing
the sorrow of another
the way things must be
the way i must smother

the doom of the sane man
the bane of those not
a single entity
a disease easily caught

the works of a master
the flaws of the fool
either is genius
no more than a tool

corrupt in the spirit
corrupt in the heart
the drummer is drumming
the unique beat so smart

the ripples in time
the memories far
but none of them fair
much better then par

the loser ugly
the loser is poor
monetary or not?
who can be sure?

the spoon and the knife
the plate in there too
eating and stabbing
all thrown askew

the insanity mounting
the rain and the reign
the path we must follow
though its littered with pain

refuse all the normal
refuse all the sane
look to the crazy
look to the slain

understanding is far
but closer than thought
look beneath the skin
when it seems all is naught
