The descent

by Jacob Perry   Feb 22, 2006

Sitting in the sunset
as the world just floats on by
thinking of the loved one gone
as I start to cry

sitting with a head so full
and a soul so empty
remembering those times gone past
those times of hope and plenty

emotions strong
thoughts a blur
alone again
nothing stirs

pain of hope
emotion lost
mental anesthetic
hopes terrible cost

the last resort
a lost lovers end
the power to choose
such a godsend

losing conscience
hate for the self
solution so simple
shield the mind with pure apathy

didn\'t mean to make her cry
i don\'t want to die
i just wish id never been born at all
dead although alive...

spirit dead
mind alive
hope crumbles
while thoughts thrive

structure gone
no reason left
life ripped away
with that final breath
